Most parents have heard of the company Bambino Mio whether you use reusable nappies or not but did you know they have produced the perfect most practical bag out there for parents and or anyone that needs a backpack?

The Bambino Mio Change bag is the perfect bag for on the go parents, particularly for parents that use reusable nappies due to its extra large pockets and built in waterproof compartment.

I’ve been using the Bambino Mio Change bag for the last 2 and a half years and I can say it has never let me down.

Like many changing bags on the market it has multiple pockets and compartments inside to make parenting a little easier. Carrying nappies, wipes, a change of clothes, snacks, water bottles and the endless other things you need as parent to young children can be difficult at the best of times but when using cloth reusable nappies you need a little extra. Extras like wet bags, nappies that take up more space, liners for example. This bag makes things so much easier, particularly it’s cleverly designed waterproof compartment.

Reasons for loving the waterproof compartment.

I personally like to pre-wet my reusable baby wipes before I leave the house and put them in a small wet bag to use as and when I need them. However no matter how good the wet bag is it does often seem to get a little damp, making anything around it damp too. For this reason I like to keep the wipes bag in the water proof section, making it easy access when I need a wipe. Plus it’s great for putting in a wet bag full on dirty stuff. Wet bags keep smells and everything else in but it’s nice to be able to put it in a separate sections away if it is dirty nappies or particularly wet, especially if your carrying food and baby bits in the rest of your bag.

Keeping things separate like this makes me feel like I’m bossing motherhood. I’m totally not but I’ll fake it till I make it. This bag does that.

All this makes it super easy when you get home to empty it straight into the washing machine. Wipe it clean if necessary and be ready for its next use.

Lastly it comes in extremely handy when you forget a wet bag, stuck with a dirty nappy. Just pop it in the dirty pocket away from all your clean stuff and clean it when you get home. I do this a lot. See what a mean about faking it.

My partner and I have both over the years taken it on holiday and long days out carrying it in all temperatures. This is important, carrying kids around all day, in slings, on shoulders, dragging scooters as we go. This is life for us so the bag has to be comfy, being able to forget it’s there.

Also known as don’t loose your stuff pockets. A small one at the top for easy access to your phone, plus a large front pocket with card and pen holders AND a large hidden pocket in the back for anything else you need to hide.

A top priority for most people these days especially the zero wasters among us and especially for parents with thirsty kids running around all day. This design is great because it’s insulated to keep drinks cool, your coffee warm, kids food or milk bottles the perfect temperature.
Magnetic large front pocket.
For keeping easy to reach essentials like muslins, toys, wet bags.
Multiple ways to carry.
Clips for the pram, two large handles for over the shoulder carry, or back pack straps which can be cleverly un-clipped and slid into the back pocket if you prefer the shoulder carry.

Multiple Strap Feature.

For me being able to carry my bag multiple ways was the most important factor. I need a back pack for when I baby wear, run after the toddler, head to the beach, give the bag to Dad. The shoulder straps come in handy when I’m just getting in and out the car, popping into the shops and dropping off at nursery. The pram straps leave your back free when pushing the buggy (because if you don’t have to carry why would you?) and leaves the pram basket free for everything else. This makes easy access for passing out snacks, wipes, toys etc while walking along.

Using your bambino Mio bag beyond parenthood.

Sustainability and longevity in a product are top on my list, and that doesn’t just mean buying from a sustainable and ethical company. It means the product will last me years and have many purposes. This 100% applies to this bag and hence why I believe they called it The Baby and Beyond Change Bag.

It fits a standard size laptop easily, has sections to easily slide books or an iPad in. The main section would be a good enough size for packing a weekend bag and the front hidden pockets would perfectly fit travel essentials like passports, wallets, papers. Also don’t forget you’ll never loose your keys with the hidden key hook.

To sum up.

Things I don’t like.

It’s a little more expensive than other backpacks on the market at £79.99.
You can buy it in a bundle with the changing wallet. I don’t like this because I found the change wallet too big to carry around with the bag opting instead for their smaller folding changing mat. (Though I do like the change wallet for using separately, for example around the house, or popping just one nappy in when on a short trip out.)

Things I like.

Unisex design.
Well thought out design with multiple straps, waterproof pocket, wide opening main pocket for easy access, extra pockets.
Ethical company who promote reusable nappies around the world and support community projects such as the people in Vanuatu who’s government have plans to ban the use of single use nappies.
Works well for parents (especially if you use cloth nappies) but also for beyond the baby stage.
